Saturday Waits

Once the fulfillment of our urge/urges have been met, where do you go from there? The continuum of our needs to have fun and enjoy life is a daily cycle and it does not stop on the weekends either, does it ever sleep? Do you ever wake up Saturday morning feeling like why or what the hell did I do what i did last night? It's kinda ironic that we build this tension and when it's discharge and liberated the aftershock sometimes leaves slight fragment of remorse, only sometimes. As we lie in bed, watching the sunlight gazes through the blinds the urge emerges once again. Impulse, it's a funny little thing.

So last night in the heart of Orange County, at the Phoenix Grille on the UCI campus I was fortunate enough to catch Thao Nguyen & The Get Down Stay Down for the second time this year. I keep repeating myself but I have to say that she is freakin' amazing, and also the fact that she's Vietnamese, I'm so proud. I would have to say that this set was a bit more intimate with a quiet crowd but I loved it. I love the fact that they are so humble and normal, they're just like any of us. After the show I met the bass player, Adam, and he bummed a cigarette from me, which I thought was kinda cool, hahah. But I spoke to him like anyone else, down to earth, and not too proud of his successes. I wish I was a musician and got to tour around the world, i'm fucking envious, but I'm ok with the fact. So they'll be in So. Cal for the weekend and they're off, so catch them if you have the time, you'll thank me.
